Create Your Own Cookbook

My father’s family had a cookbook. It was basically a collection of recipes on printer paper stuffed in a plastic report cover. They were mostly usable, except some that read like this:

Italian Wedding Soup: make mini meatballs and drop into chicken broth.

Um, how do you make the meatballs? What ingredients do you need and how long do you cook them? After spending some time with my grandmother going over the fine points of her mother’s best recipes, my cousin found this great website where you can create and print your own cookbook.

In addition to uploading your personal recipes, you can even add your own photos, whether they be of the dishes or the people associated with them.

The book was a huge hit, especially with my dad’s cousins, whose mother passed away shortly after the holidays. Her recipe for krispie peanut butter eggs will live on for future generations who read this book.
